Shannon K. Hickey is a 1994 graduate of Bradwell Institute and a 1998 graduate of Armstrong State University with a Bachelor of Music Education. She is currently in her eighteenth year in the education field and has worked as a music teacher, band director, chorus director, classroom teacher, fine arts director, athletic director, and private school administrator. Shannon has taught students from two years of age through high school graduation and is in her third year as the Interim Head of School at First Presbyterian Christian Academy in Hinesville, Georgia. In her current role, Shannon is responsible for all aspects of school operations. Some of her areas of responsibility are curriculum, professional development, accreditation, budgeting, hiring faculty and staff, marketing, enrollment, advancement, school safety, after school programs, and student and teacher discipline. Prior to serving as the Interim Head of School, she held the positions of principal, assistant principal, department director at First Presbyterian Christian Academy. Shannon has served as a team member with AdvancED in an effort to assist other schools with their accreditation during their external review process. Outside of her school administrator duties, Shannon is a member of the Liberty County Education Coalition, a proud Board member of the Rotary Club of Hinesville, and a member of First Baptist Church of Hinesville. She has been happily married to Tom Hickey for 18 years. Together they have two children, Emily and Tommy, and host exchange students through Youth for Understanding (YFU) organization.
