We have been monitoring the COVID-19 situation and are continually taking immediate steps as advised by the CDC and local US health officials to support keeping our school safe and clean for your students and our employees. I want to ensure we are communicating with you and I wanted to personally reach out and share the health and safety measures we have put in place today and what we are preparing.
Today our students were given a demonstration on the proper ways to wash their hands. I think many learned some new pointers and how to properly kill bacteria and other germs. Hand santizers have been re-stocked and all faculty were given disinfectant sprays earlier this week. Students were given hand sanitizer before and after lunch as well as in between transitions to and from outside play. Our school is cleaned every night and we have asked our janitorial staff to disinfect and cleaning appropriately.
Our teachers were asked to create online learning classrooms through the use of Google Classrooms today. This is a precautionary measure if we are forced with the difficult decision to shut down the school. Please note the safety of our faculty, students, and community is of the upmost importance. Please stay diligent in the recommendations of the CDC:
– Practice good hygiene, limit meetings and travel, limit food sharing, and encourage students and staff to stay home if they are feeling ill.
We are out of the school March 13th and 16th. If there will be a school closure, you all will be notified by 5:00 pm on Monday, March 16th.
Thank you all for your continued support through this situation.
Lauren Hale, Head of School
