We have been monitoring the COVID-19 situation and are continually taking immediate steps as advised by the local government and US health officials to support keeping our school safe and clean for your students and our staff.
Our Board and Administration held on to hope that we would be able to return to school as normal in the month of May, however, it is becoming more apparent that this will not be possible. Although the state of Georgia has begun to open up its doors and allowed for businesses to resume some normal activity, social distancing practices remain. We believe that these practices make it almost impossible to conduct a normal school day at this time. FPCA will continue the course with distant learning for our students. As a result, distant learning will continue and will end on May 15th. We have scheduled for students to return to the school building on May 18th and 19th to return books, turn in work/assignments, and pick up their end of the year materials (yearbooks, pictures, summer packets, and alike). More guidelines and information will be sent out to each level of school on how these days will be conducted.
This is not how we wanted to end our school year and we are saddened by the loss of our school events this Spring semester. Spring sports are still in a postponed stage, graduation for both Kindergarten and Senior students have been postponed to future dates, Baccalaureate service has been cancelled, as well as our plans for prom. Seniors will be receiving an additional email regarding a senior only event. Kindergarten graduation will be held on June 26th at 6:00 pm and Senior graduation will be held on June 27th at 10:00 am. Both events will take place at the First Presbyterian Church of Hinesville. If these events have to be rescheduled due to local/state orders, you will be notified as soon as possible.
Teachers will be working May 18th through May 22nd to finalize grades and conduct their end of the year checklists. The school building will not be open for students from May 20th – May 22nd, and visitors will be limited to the front office. If you have any questions regarding this process or if you need assistance in any way, please email me at email@example.com.
Thank you all for your continued support through this situation.
